  i know many people who don't like cops and even give them all kinds of names.

  some may be nice, but many think they are superior to the ordinary citizen.

  i see so many doing radar on bottom of hills where automatically you will go over the speed limit.

  I think you should treat a lady like a lady, without being a pussy about it and be independant -be yourself without the cliche bloke political correctness thingy - I think women must get very tired of all that shit!

  my wife, who is intent on re-activating herself as a dub since i da'd myself, went to the convention this past weekend.

  she showed me this new publication entitled "learn from the great teacher", and placed great emphasis on these two pages i scanned and am posting.

  it makes a poor show of telling children what to do when confronted by a child abuser.

  but now i found out the real reason: i'm tired because i'm overworked.

  Why can't I get a ride to the Kingdom Hall?

  This should definately be in there! It has universal significence.

  Btw, I wonder if elderly people collect the car door handles they dismember cos no minno is gonna willfully put his shiney Mondeo through that! As well as the fact that he has to take the ladders off his car after window cleaning all day and he has to set off 20 mins before. He can't even find solice in kickin out a Nirvana tune before reaching the car park.

  My JW Husband Got a "Privilege" Back - UGH!

  my jw husband came home from his meeting yesterday a little later than usual, and when i asked him where he had been, he said he had to meet with the elders after the meeting.

  well, it seems that even though he is reinstated, he has to ask for each of his"privileges" back one at a time.

  Does Your JW Family Act Like This?

  well, it is district convention time again.

  my mother is an active jw and faithfully attends these long, brainwashing sessions.

  she and i have fairly close contact and, over the past few years, i have noticed a definite pattern in her behavior after she attends the district conventions.

  My mum and dad have just been to the assembly this weekend. All that you describe happens but usually over about 4 days (if it’s a 3 day assembly).

  First they will go all quiet – usually stay in their room when they get home (My dad treats my mum like dirt btw – so this always baffles me!) They don’t talk as much but when they do it’s as if you’re not even their – they talk over you and don’t seem to be aware of what’s really going on. They also find the most un-funniest things, hilarious – this is extremely interesting to experience though – (btw, I’d love to study psychology). Then my mum starts being affectionately nice, (this time lasted for 15 minutes or so), though she p robably heard in a talk about how there’s still a chance I could be saved. Sorry, but b org love makes me shudder! Then she will get very depressed. The furthest she got today with bringing it up was talking about elephants and how they mentioned them at the assembly while we was watching a nature program. She really tried and all to even get that out (The so-called line is soooo apparent - it’s too scary for her to cross it). My dad just gets a really self-righteous expression – says nothing as usual and looks like he’s been sniffing glue!

  All wears of in the end though!

  Manchester Assembly

  i've been talking to a few witnesses who were at the assembly this weekend, and apparently there were loads of apostates there!

  any body from here go?

  i was told about silent lambs, and some others who were giving out leaflets.

  I wouldn't mind going and taking a few picks and writing a few notes - I'd want to be paid though cos it sooooooo sooooooo boring the assemblys just bring back memories of that guy off of father ted who says - 'I've got an extreeeemly boring voice'.

  To be honest I think I'd vomit if I had to listen to how great the organsation is and how crap everyone else is even if it was just one more time.
